Barrio Troutstream Fly Lines
Barrio Troutstream - a new fly line for your river fishing in 2024.
The Troutstream is very much about natural versatility - when I'm in the zone on the river I really don't want to be thinking about my gear, I simply want to lift, pause, cast, and maybe add a wiggle or curve in there before the fly arrives where I want it to go.
That might be fishing a dry, a couple of spiders, or a bushy indicator fly with a nymph or two under it, at 20ft or 60ft - I want smooth casting, predictable control and of course, good presentation.
The Troutstream has a nimble 30ft head and features our new transitional style tapers. Presentation and accuracy at short range is simply sweet and extending line to cover all your normal river fishing ranges feels natural, stable and predictable.
A superb all-round presentation line for the river!

It's been a while since you've brought out a new line Mike and curiosity got the better of me.
You've done it again, weather has been a pain all month, but the line is an absolute joy!

Contacted Mike about a new line for my #4 rod, replied straight away and recommended the Troutstream line so I ordered one, arrived the next day, absolutely excellent service.
The line is fantastic and pair it with one of his furled leaders and you have an unbelievable set up. I have just ordered another one in a #5.
Thank you Mike.

First time using a Barrio line and have to say well worth the money. It has a really nice feel to it and has that thing we all need, power with finesse.
I am an average angler at best and would say this has improved my fishing and enjoyment immeasurably.
Prompt customer service as well, and really for this price you can’t get better imo.
Thanks Mike.

I got hold of an old Hardy Gem Mk2 8’6” 5wt a while ago, but had been struggling to find a line which it seemed happy with. I’ve used Mike’s lines for years and they’re all fantastic, but for me the relatively new Troutstream seems to have found a perfect niche between the GT90 (which I love on slower rods for its delicacy and predictable loading) and the Smallstream (which I find superb in close-quarters, on short rods, for ‘point and shoot’ fishing situations).
The Troutstream has elements of both and finally hit the sweet spot with the Hardy - this line really made it sing!
A superb taper, and another great line from Mr Barrio.

I matched a 4# Troutstream to my 10'3# Greys rod. The line loads the rod perfectly! I can cover the river and easily turn over a 16' leader including tippet wih spiders. I also like the different colours for the head and running line.
Thanks Mike!
